A good government works not only for the people, but with the people

Well, I was one of those who proposed that in our citizen panel. We came up with many ideas on how to make the square more attractive. And the city administration listened.

I should have known you were behind this! Was it also a citizen initiative to make it a zero-emissions construction site? All the machines there – diggers, loaders – are electric.

Yes, isn’t that fantastic? Being blind, I am very sensitive to sound – and this construction site is so quiet! You can even hear the workers talk because the machines make almost no noise.

The city government initiated this; it’s a demonstration project together with other cities.

I talked with one of the workers about the special machines: diggers with a cable, like a vacuum cleaner at home. The idea is to create a market for those.
If many cities join forces, they send a signal to the industry and make serial production profitable.

It is so important to work together! Especially now, in this pandemic. Not only with other cities, also with the region, where our farmers are, and with the state government.

¡

And with Brussels, of course. If only the European Union were less bureaucratic! I think they should have citizen panels like the one for our square in the EU as well.
